Pull down resistor value 33v. What is a pull up and pull down resistor. They operate using the same concepts except the pull up resistor is connected to the high voltage this is usually 33v or 5v and is often refereed to as vcc and the pull down resistor is connected to ground. Conversely if one uses a pull down resistor the input pin will see 33v low if the button is not pressed and 33v high if it is pressed.

If the resistance value is too low a high current will flow through the pull up resistor heating the device and using up an unnecessary amount of power when the switch is closed. The above circuit connects 33v through a switch and 220w resistor to pin 6. A pull up resistor is used to make the default state of the digital pin as high or to the logic level in the above image it is 5v and a pull down resistor does exactly opposite it makes the default state of the digital pin as low 0v.

For simplicity we will focus on pull ups since they are more common than pull downs. Pull ups are often used with buttons and switches. The 1k resistor would require 33v1k33ma when the output is high check the datasheet of your device to see the output current capability in general i think it is a very low value for pull updown usually values about 10k are used.

And so when the circuit is closed it short circuits around the pull up or pull down resistor and reads the other value.
